We can tell you what you need to know about exterior maintenance
FAQ What you need to know:
What is soft washing?
We use a soft-wash to safely and effectively clean roofs and sidings. It’s the only method recommended by roof manufacturers because it’s safe and does a better job than alternative cleaning methods. Soft-wash is a germicide mix that’s designed to kill mold and mildew build up on sensitive substrates.
How often should windows be cleaned?
Windows should be cleaned no less than once a year. Sediment that’s accumulated over the year can leave behind mineral deposits which can stain and etch glass.
For clear views through the year it’s recommended to have them cleaned quarterly or biannually. For picture perfect results hire a professional who, with the right tools and experience, can deliver flawless results.
How are exterior windows washed?
Window cleaners use water fed pole systems to wash exterior windows for flawless results and ease of use.
The main components of these systems are filters, brushes, hoses and poles. Filters can range from one to several stages depending on the impurities being filtered out. Good filters purge 99.99% of contaminants.
Poles are lightened by materials like carbon fiber and plastic fittings. They telescope and can reach windows up to 80 feet high.
How it works is sediment is agitated with a brush and rinsed with pure water which leaves glass dirt and dust free. Windows remain clean for longer because no residue is left for dirt and dust to cling to.
How are gutters cleaned?
Cleaning gutters also means removing leaves, pine needles, and maple seeds from rooftops. However, walking on roofs can be dangerous. It’s mandatory to use fall harnesses when walking on roofs – even when walking on single story roofs. It’s ideal to use blowers to remove leaves from rooftops because brushes can loosen and remove roof granules. Downspouts become blocked when regular maintenance isn’t performed. Snaking tools are needed to clear them and get water flowing again.
Advantages of water based sealers
We use water based sealers which are applied on moist decks and penetrate past the surface. This creates a deep long lasting barrier that protects the integrity of wood from the elements. After application, decks are water proof and dry within an hour.
